SERIES 500 STAIR TREADS

Series 500Amstep renovation stair treads are the economical way to repair worn, dangerous stairways. These long-lasting treads provide a safe, non-slip surface that exceeds the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and OSHA requirements for coefficient of friction (slip resistance). Amstep's superior design and construction are the products of more than 85 years experience in safety technology. These treads have been proven to outwear ordinary treads in a wide range of applications, both indoors and outdoors.

The Series 500 is designed to combine top level performance with bottom-line economy. These sturdy treads are perfect for most stairway requirements.

Series 500 treads are manufactured of high quality, heavy duty extruded aluminum. An exclusive safety traction surface, consisting of special epoxy abrasive non-slip particles, is bonded and locked into strips within the aluminum base. The result is an attractive, extremely durable step that provides a high degree of safety.

Typical applications include schools, public buildings, hospitals and industry.
A variety of designs and colors are available to match your specific requirements.

How to specify Amstep 500 treads


Renovation Treads shall be non-slip Amstep 500 Series Type _______ as manufactured by Amstep Products. The tread base shall be extruded aluminum alloy 6063-T6, heat treated for high strength. The abrasive filler material is a blend of carborundum and aluminum oxide bonded and locked into the channels provided in the extruded aluminum tread base. Treads shall be 9/32" thick and lip shall be 1 1/8" from underside. Treads will have a coefficient of friction 1.02 dry, 0.98 wet per ASTM F609-79. Treads will be furnished with drilled and countersunk holes.
